DR LIANG-CHUN SHIH
Attending Physician Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery China Medical University Hospital Taichung, Taiwan Dr. Liang-Chun Shih is an accomplished otorhinolaryngologist, clinician-scientist, and academic leader based in Taiwan. He obtained his MD from China Medical University in 2008 and later completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the same institution (2019–2022). His clinical training includes residency in Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at China Medical University Hospital, as well as advanced international exposure as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, specializing in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery. He is also certified in Da Vinci robotic surgery from Yonsei University, Korea.
Dr. Shih currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at China Medical University and Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He is also an attending physician at Asia University Hospital. His clinical expertise spans allergy and immunology, rhinology, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, and robotic surgery for obstructive sleep apnea. An active researcher, Dr. Shih has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications, with more than half as first or corresponding author. His research focuses on allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, nasopharyngeal and oral cancers, and sleep apnea. He has contributed significantly to both clinical and translational research, particularly in disease mechanisms and surgical outcomes. In addition, he has served as an editor for The Journal of Taiwan Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field through academic leadership and scholarly dissemination. |
