Vladimir Nekhendzy, M.D., is Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and, by courtesy, Otolaryngology at the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Nekhendzy has been Director of Stanford Head and Neck Anesthesia and Advanced Airway Management Program since its inception in 1998, and is also a fellowship program director in this subspecialty. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally, has authored over 20 peer reviewed publications and 15 book chapters, and has directed over 60 U.S. and international workshops on difficult airway management.
His clinical research largely focuses on different aspects of anesthetic management for sleep apnea patients, and on application of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for the treatment of postoperative pain.
Dr. Nekhendzy is a founding member and Immediate Past President of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia (SHANA, www.shanahq.com), which has over 600 members worldwide.
