Professor and Chief of Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. Prof. Zhou conducted a general study of the endoscopic endonasal surgical technique on both the clinical and basic science aspects since 1992. He has completed more than 10,000 endoscopic sinus surgeries. Prof. Zhou is the one who has first reported the endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy surgery and introduced the endoscopic classification of frontal recess in China. He has also designed the endoscopic pre-lacrimal recess approach, which is now widely used both in China and abroad. In the recent decade, Prof. Zhou devotes himself to the study of skull base anatomy and surgery, the etiology and treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (especially the refractory rhinosinusitis), as well as pediatric chronic rhinosinusitis. Based on his profound research work, Prof. Zhou has totally published more than 110 rhinology papers, including 33 SCI papers. He is the chief of the National Health and Family Planning Commission Otolaryngology Endoscopic Technique Specialist Committee, member of the Chinese Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (chief of the Rhinology division), member and secretary-general of the Beijing Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is also the international member of the American Rhinology Society.
