DR ANGELA DONALDSON
Associate Professor Department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, USA Dr. Donaldson is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery and has a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery. She is also the vice-chair of research, section head of the division of rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, and associate program director of the residency program for the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.
Her research interest includes chronic rhinosinusitis in secondary immunodeficiency patients and medication de-escalation in patients with aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD). She also has an interest in smell dysfunction after endoscopic skull base surgery. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the topics of skull base anatomy, pituitary surgery, and inflammatory sinonasal disease, as well as presented at several national and international meetings. Dr. Donaldson is actively involved in multiple national societies. She is currently the chair of the Live and Ancillary Course Education Committee for the American Rhinologic Society (ARS). She is treasurer of Ignite Med, a not-for-profit national organization focused on mentorship and coaching of female medical students. Dr. Donaldson is a member of the Rhinology & Allergy Education Committee as well as the Rhinology & Paranasal Sinus Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. She also serves as the alternate board of governor for Greater Jacksonville ENT Society. Clinically, Dr. Donaldson is an expert in complex rhinologic conditions and extended skull base approaches. She has a special interest in surgery for AERD, sinonasal malignancies and clival tumors. |
