Dr Lim is an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with a subspecialty focus in Rhinology and Sinonasal allergy.  He graduated locally in Singapore, received his membership from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and Master of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology from National University of Singapore. He received his otorhinolaryngology specialist accreditation from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Singapore Medical Council (SMC) in Singapore after completing his ear nose throat specialist training locally.  He was admitted as a fellow into the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, European Rhinologic Society and also became a member of the American Rhinologic Society.

He was the first surgeon to be awarded a Ministry of Health Clinical Rhinology Fellowship award to Europe, where he trained under world-renowned rhinologist Professor Wytske Fokkens and endoscopic skull base surgeon Professor Christos Georgalas, to expand Singapore’s repertoire in the management of rhinology, endoscopic skull base surgery and sinonasal allergy. Upon his return, he introduced the concept of local allergic rhinitis, use of 5 Fluorouracil and en-bloc resection in the management of sinonasal inverted papilloma, to the local ENT fraternity.

During his tenure in public service, he started the allergy and immunotherapy service to manage difficult nasal allergy and smell disorder. He was the Lead ENT tutor and adjunct lecturer in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU/Imperial College), where he was fully in charge of the inaugural ENT curriculum. Dr Lim was also a Senior Clinical Lecturer of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), and a core faculty member in the National Healthcare Group ENT residency programme. He sits on the Standard Setting Committees for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine’s undergraduate medical examination and the Otorhinolaryngology postgraduate medical examination.  Dr Lim continues to serve as a visiting consultant to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to train budding ENT surgeons.
