Qualification and training
  • Born 4 April 1962,  Medicine at Madras University, Chengalpattu medical college, DLO Madras Medical College, MS ENT at Calicut medical College
  • Worked as Lecturer and Assistant professor of ENT in Trichur and Calicut medical Colleges from 1990 to 1998
  • Resigned and started ENT and Head and neck surgery Institute with Colleagues, forming the first ever attempt  in Kerala to start a comprehensive ENT, Audiology , Habilitationist unit in 1998. Team joined MIMS Calicut in  2001 and started Kerala’s first cochlear implant program in 2002.
  • Trained at Bionic ear research Institute, Melbourne Australia, Causse Clinic , Beziers France, Wurzberg University ENT Hospital in Germany and Kidwai Memorial Cancer hospital, Bangalore.  Trained in Sialendoscopy, Laser surgery and Microvascular surgery.

Areas of excellence 
  • Started own Center MESIARC ENT Institute in 2006 and is at present one of the best-equipped ENT hospitals in this part of the world having high-end equipment including all varieties of lasers, operating microscopes, Nerve monitors, HD cameras and ENT navigation systems and state of art audiology labs and Modular Operation theatres
  • Performs a large number of pediatric cochlear implants, over 2700  now, with a very high proportion of children less than 2 years old including India’s largest bilateral cochlear implant program. Performed India’s first Bone bridge surgery.
  • Special interest in lateral skull base surgery including acoustic neuromas, glomus tumors and petrous apex lesions, middle ear surgery, stapes surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, Sialendoscopy and dizziness disorders. 

Affiliations and stature
  • Devised the structure of Sruthitharangam Kerala Government free pediatric cochlear implant program, arguably Indias finest government program.
  • Member of HEARRING group, an elite group of 28 centers worldwide engaged in research into otology otoneurology. Member of Board of Directors of Politzer Society.  
  • Invited speaker, operating faculty in many centers worldwide. Numerous publications in national and international journals.
