DR SANJEET RANGARAJAN

Associate Professor and Vice Chair, Innovation and Community Partnerships

A board-certified and fellowship-trained rhinologist and skull base surgeon, Sanjeet Rangarajan, MD, M.Eng., joined the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center faculty in November 2023. Dr. Rangarajan is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Innovation and Community Partnerships in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. His academic and clinical interests center on the treatment of nose, sinus and skull base disorders. He is particularly interested in the application of disruptive technologies, artificial intelligence and other innovative tools in the treatment of these diseases.

Dr. Rangarajan has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field of rhinology and skull base surgery. He also serves as a reviewer for many of academic journals in the field. In addition, he serves on the leadership of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Rhinologic Society and the North American Skull Base Society. As an educator, Dr. Rangarajan was selected by his residents as a three-time winner of his department’s Faculty Teaching Award. He is regularly invited to teach at courses throughout the United States.

Prior to coming to UH, Dr. Rangarajan served as Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Director of the Division of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, Tennessee. In his time at UTHSC, Dr. Rangarajan led one of the busiest endoscopic skull base surgery programs in the southern United States.

Dr. Rangarajan received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee) before earning his medical degree at Michigan State University (Grand Rapids, Michigan) in 2011. He completed a residency in otolaryngology – head & neck surgery at The Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) in 2016, followed by a fellowship in advanced rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery at Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) in July 2017.
