Dr. Do-Yeon Cho, M.D., M.S., is a tenured Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and president-elect of the Korean American Otolaryngology Society. 

Dr. Cho is a clinician-scientist dedicated to bridging basic science and clinical care in upper airway diseases. He has received multiple research career development awards, including from the NIH, for his work in chronic rhinosinusitis and related conditions. His research focuses on: 1) understanding the pathophysiology of chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps using animal models, 2) developing topical drug delivery systems for upper airway diseases, and 3) investigating the pathogenesis of Pseudomonas sinusitis using the rabbit model. 

In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr. Cho has served as an expert voice in media outlets including articles, interviews, and podcasts. He was recently elected Chair of the International Committee of the American Rhinologic Society, underscoring his leadership in the field.

With a deep commitment to research, education, and patient care, he published more than 100 peer reviewed articles and continues to contribute meaningfully to advancing the understanding and treatment of CRS.
