Dr. David A. Gudis, MD, FACS, FARS, is the JoAnn M. Murphy Memorial Professor and Chief of the Division of Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the Department of Neurologic Surgery at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Gudis is dual-fellowship trained both in Rhinology: Advanced Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgery and in Pediatric Otolaryngology.

He has co-authored and co-edited three textbooks, authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, contributed numerous textbook chapters, and presented his research and surgical techniques internationally.  His practice includes the treatment of refractory chronic sinusitis, sinus and nasal tumors, minimally invasive endoscopic skull base surgery, and endoscopic orbital surgery.  

Dr. Gudis pursued his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where he was the recipient of the Russel J. Stumacher M.D. Award. He then completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and fellowships at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.  He is the recipient of several grants funding humanitarian missions to provide surgery, clinical care and research in underserved regions around the world, including in Haiti, Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana.​
