She is also an Associate Professor of Medicine in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She received her MD and PhD degree from University of Pittsburgh, and residency and fellowship training at JHUSOM.
Dr Kim’s clinical niche and translational research interest is in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis. She has an active basic and translational laboratory that studies the underlying mechanisms of airway epithelial dysfunction in sinus disease. Her work is internationally recognized in the field of epithelial cell biology and allergic immune responses. She also has expertise in management and study of patients with autoimmune disease and complex sinus disease, and serves as a co-director of the Johns Hopkins Sjogren’s Center of Excellence and as head consultant of the Vasculitis Center at JHUSOM. Dr Kim is the current President of the Allergy and Immunology Section of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and also the Chair of the Awards Committee of the ARS. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Internationally Forum of Allergy and Rhinology, the nationally #1 ranked rhinology journal in the USA. Dr Kim is an inducted member of the following honor societies: Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society, and the Triologic Society |
