Martin J. Citardi, MD, an internationally recognized rhinologist, currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at McGovern Medical School (MMS), part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.  Under Dr. Martin J. Citardi’s leadership, the Department has grown from a single physician faculty member to 20 full-time physician faculty members, plus 7 audiologists.

Dr. Martin J. Citardi received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Yale University and then pursued a rhinology fellowship at the Georgia Rhinology & Sinus Center. Dr. Martin J. Citardi is certified by the American Board of Otorhinolaryngology, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American College of Surgeons and the American Rhinologic Society.

The American Academy of Otolaryngology has presented Dr. Martin J. Citardi with its Honor Award in 2003 and its Distinguished Service Award in 2007 and 2017.  In 2003, Dr. Martin J. Citardi received the American Rhinologic Society Presidential Award. Since 2005, Dr. Martin J. Citardi has been listed among the Best Doctors in America.   Dr. Martin J. Citardi has been a Houstonia Top Doctor since 2014, Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2013 and a Texas Super Doctor since 2012.

Dr. Martin J. Citardi has been invited to speak at medical meetings in Europe, Asia and South America.  He frequently presents at national otolaryngology meetings throughout the US.  He has over 100 publications, and he has edited a textbook on computer-aided otorhinolaryngology.
