Stanley Y.C. Liu, MD, DDS, FACS is a sleep surgeon working across oral and maxillofacial surgery and otolaryngology. At NSU Health, Florida, he chaired the oral and maxillofacial surgery department and currently directs the Sleep and Breathe Wellness Center. He is formerly an associate professor of otolaryngology at Stanford, where he directed the sleep surgery fellowship.

Dr. Liu’s work centers on restoring sleep breathing health as a gateway to wellness. He treats airway function, facial form, and sleep as one system. He originated the DOME concept for adult maxillary expansion and updated the Stanford Riley-Powell sleep surgery protocol. His clinical range spans maxillomandibular advancement, drug-induced sleep endoscopy, hypoglossal nerve stimulation, and multilevel airway surgery.

He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed papers. He teaches sleep surgery internationally and keynotes at sleep meetings including World Sleep and APSS.

He has directed several SARC sleep workshops, a forum he credits for its willingness to convene new formats and advance innovation in the field.
