Dr. Ying-Chieh Hsu, MD, is an Otolaryngologist at Taipei Tzu-Chi Hospital and a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University.
Her clinical and academic work bridges sleep medicine, upper airway reconstruction, and biomedical engineering, with a focus on improving long-term outcomes for patients with sleep-disordered breathing.
Dr. Hsu specializes in the comprehensive management of obstructive sleep apnea, integrating:
Her PhD research explores how sleep quality and sleep-disordered breathing influence balance control, postural stability, and gait performance.
By combining clinical sleep medicine with quantitative movement analysis, Dr. Hsu investigates the mechanisms linking airway obstruction, nocturnal hypoxemia and increased fall risk—particularly in older adults and individuals with chronic sleep fragmentation.

Dr. Hsu specializes in the comprehensive management of obstructive sleep apnea, integrating:
- Structural approaches such as nasal surgery and minimally invasive soft palate procedures,
- Metabolic and physiologic interventions, including scientific weight management and GLP-1–based therapy, and
- Functional sleep optimization, targeting circadian rhythm alignment and sleep restoration.
